Brief

This ambitious retrofit project transformed a poorly performing 1960s house into a certified Passivhaus. The challenge was achieving the exacting Passivhaus standards while working within the constraints of the existing structure. We developed a comprehensive strategy that included external wall insulation, roof upgrades, and the installation of high-performance windows and doors. The result is a comfortable, energy-efficient home with dramatically reduced running costs.

Approach

  • Achieving Passivhaus standards in existing building
  • Managing thermal bridging
  • Maintaining architectural character

Design Focus

Triple-glazed windows
Continuous insulation
MVHR system
